Jefferson Farm & Gardens, pictured in the illustration above, is a new educational farm being developed on the southeast edge of Columbia, Missouri. The farm will provide information and inspiration on contemporary Midwest farming and gardening topics. Work on the farm and gardens is underway. It is expected to open to the public in 2008. Attractions Jefferson Farm & Gardens will have many components, including a visitors' center with an exhibit hall, classrooms, reading room and teaching greenhouse, children's garden, and walking trails through the gardens and around a 7-acre lake. Visitors will be able to tour a wide variety of crop fields and gardens, including a fruit orchard, vegetable garden, and demonstrations of blueberries, grapes, raspberries and other fruit crops.
