Demonstration
Fields
We will have 10 to 15 small fields, typically an acre or so, that demonstrate
field crops that are commonly grown in Missouri, or have good potential
to be produced in the state. Examples of common crops to be demonstrated
are soybeans, corn, wheat, sorghum (milo), oats, alfalfa, and possibly
cotton. Alternative crops to be demonstrated include sunflowers, buckwheat,
dry edible beans, millet, cowpeas, amaranth, canola, and flax. These
fields will be machine planted and harvested, and give visitors a feel
for what these crops look like in a field setting.
