Market Development A key component of successfully commercializing a new crop is obtaining market outlets. The Jefferson Institute staff devotes considerable time to arranging delivery points and contracts for grains from existing buyers. We also work to develop new market opportunities, especially those that might allow producers to add value to their products through packaging or processing. Examples of such value-added opportunities include crops for the birdseed market, vegetable oil products from crops, specialty bread and baking flours.
